GENERAL INFORMATION

Buckeye Dance Studio continues in the high quality standard of Buckeye Gymnastic with solid dance training. An emphasis is placed on building the fundamentals of dance while having fun and working hard! In our dance classes students can learn discipline, boost athleticism and build confidence.

Our annual recital is in June, and all students are encouraged to participate. The recital is a wonderful opportunity for students to show friends and family what they have worked on all year.

For students who desire to take their training to the next level, we also offer a Mini Team and Competition Team. The Competition Team offers additional performance and workshop opportunities to dancers who are serious about their dance training. They compete at a minimum of 3 regional competitions throughout the year, attend local dance workshops, as well as perform in the annual dance recital. The Competition Team has won multiple high awards, but equally as important is the training and exposure to the dance world to prepare them for professional dance for college and beyond. The studio is well lit, air conditioned with a wooden floor essential to dance practice and performance. Wood is a preferred floor that helps to keep young legs from being hurt during practice. There are floor to ceiling mirrors, a professional sound system and a dance barre for proper ballet instruction.

The goal for each Buckeye Dance student is to acquire, through professional dance training, student interaction and performance opportunities, the confidence to pursue other potential venues in life.

Classes Offered

Gym & Dance: Our Gymnastics & Dance class will provide students the opportunity to explore gymnastics, ballet, & jazz

Combo Dance Class: is a fun sampler class that allows students to try all styles of dance including Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, and Jazz.  (Summer Only)

Ballet: provides a solid foundation for all other forms of dance and also forms the basis for discipline, creativity and appreciation of dance as an art form. Students are motivated to strive for excellence in technique, grace and poise, with additional emphasis on strength, energy and athleticism.

Tap: an intricate form of dance with the feet as well as the body. Tap enhances rhythmic dynamics, speed and agility. Traditional and Contemporary tap styles are taught, with a focus on total body movement, technical correctness and performance quality.

Jazz: recommended to develop style, strength and versatility. Students are encouraged to explore many styles such as Classical Jazz, Blues, Latin, Rock and Hip Hop, to name a few.

Hip Hop: a street styled jazz dance that focuses on sharp body isolations in free flowing movements.
